Google, the world's largest search engine, has launched a new logo and was released Tuesday, September 1.  The new logo is sporting softer colors and has a similarity with Google's parent, Alphabet Inc.

The last time Google made a significant change in its logo was back in 1999 and the most recent change has made mixed emotions amongst expert designers and users alike. Response to the change ranged from "brilliant," "cute" and "childish."

Mark Sinclair of Creative Design "I see six letters that represent a youthful, dynamic creativity-a notion that this company was built on. Without that playful spirit, Google isn't really Google. But of course, we're talking about a massive media conglomerate here, so they couldn't get too crazy. How does Google show us that they aren't that stiff? A slightly tilted E," Inquisitr reported.

Graphic designer Milton Glaser, the famous "I Love NY" inventor, shared his thoughts as well.  He said that he will replace 'Google' with 'Goo. The reason, it consumes less space as well as less bandwidth, aside from being easy to recognize.

As Google released the new company logo, it has also explained itself behind the change. The search engine can be accessed from different device and not only from a desktop PC or a laptop.  They want a typeface that will be recognizable on almost all the devices available, big screen or small screen. The company then used a sleeker sans-serif typeface.

"Once upon a time, Google was one destination that you reached from one device: a desktop PC. These days, people interact with Google products across many different platforms, apps and devices.  We've taken the Google logo and branding, which were originally built for a single desktop browser page, and updated them for a world of seamless computing across an endless number of devices and different kinds of inputs," according to Google's own blog post.

Google logo uses only the primary colors, then altered the pattern by using a secondary color, the green, for the letter L.
