"Transformers 5" is reportedly going on two different directions and one of which involves the Quintessons and the planet-sized robot Unicron.

Voice actor Mark Ryan, who gave life to Jetfire in "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" and to Lockdown in "Age of Extinction," revealed in an interview at the UK "Wings and Wheels" convention that the first direction will focus on the Autobots and Dinobots on earth along with Cade Yeager (Mark Walhberg) as they "set out to save Earth from an impending threat."

The second storyline involves Optimus Prime's venture into outer space in search for the Quintessons, also known as the Creators. Optimus will reportedly confront Unicron, a robot so strong that it can defeat Autobots and Decepticons combined. This direction will lay the foundation for the Transformers universe Paramount is creating much like what Marvel is doing.

Paramount has earlier revealed that they are assembling a pool of writers who will tie in the Transformers universe together. So far their writer's room is pretty impressive with Akiva Goldsman ("Winter's Tale") heading team.

The other writers include Zak Penn ("The Incredible Hulk"), Jeff Pinker ("Lost"), Art Marcum and Matt Holloway ("Iron Man"), Robert Kirkman ("The Walking Dead"), Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari (Ant-Man), Steven S. DeKnight ("Daredevil"), Christina Hodson (Shut In), Lindsey Beer, Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down) and Geneva Robertson-Dworet.

Goldsman explained their vision for the franchise, "We will look at the toys, the TV shows, the merchandise, everything that has been generated by Hasbro, from popular to forgotten iterations, and establish a mythological time line. It has been designed with a lot of visual help, toys, robots, sketches and writers and artists. After that super saturation, the writers will figure out not one, but numerous films that will extend the universe."

The studio is reportedly eyeing 12 sequels. Transformers fans will surely be thrilled by this news as more robots will make it to the big screen.

"Transformers 5" will begin production in 2016 and the movie is slated to be released in 2017.
