Blizzard Entertainment to Immortalize Robin Williams in "World of Warcraft"

Yet another tribute to deceased actor Robin Williams is in the works --this time not from celebrity friends but from his 'gaming' friends.

Blizzard Entertainment, creator of the game "World of Warcraft", has responded positively to a petition-letter from gamers seeking to immortalize Williams by including him as a non-playing character in the popular game.

In its official Twitter account, Blizzard tweeted: "@robinwilliams Thank you. You gave us so much joy in our lives, and we hope you enjoyed your time in our world. We'll see you in-game."

Fans of "World of Warcraft" had asked Blizzard to create a Robin Williams game character that would perform the comedian's best jokes so that he can continue to bring smiles and laughter to fellow gamers long after his passing.

Williams was known in the gaming community as an avid player of "World of Warcraft" and "Portal". He even named his kids after the characters of the games he played.

Reports say his son Cody was named after a character in "Final Fight", while his daughter Zelda was named after "The Legend of Zelda". Williams and his daughter had been promoting Nintendo's "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time".

In an interview with "Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon", Williams said he and his wife first played the game "The Legend of Zelda" when his wife was pregnant with their daughter. He said the name Zelda was magical and sweet and it fit their daughter perfectly.

Aside from Williams, several other people had been given tributes in the game either through statues, magical items or memorial sites built in their honor.

Blizzard Entertainment has yet to release details of how it intends to immortalize Robin Williams in "World of Warcraft" but their recent tweet confirming the move has been more than enough to excite fans of the game and of the actor.
