The Cathay Pacific flight CX713's cabin crew raised alarmed after a South Asian passenger placed his hand luggage bags in different overhead lockers. The plane was supposed to leave at 9:10 a.m. to Bangkok in Thailand.

According to EJI, after noticing the man's suspicious behavior, the cabin crew called his attention and asked him to place his luggages in one place. However, the man did not follow the request.

Instead, he allegedly "mumbled something" and gave unsatisfactory answers when asked why he was placing his luggages in various overhead lockers, provoking the cabin crew to report the situation to the flight captain.

The captain then gave orders for the plane to be evacuated and called for a thorough inspection and security check of all passengers of the said flight.

The plane finally left the airport at 11:30 a.m. after a two and a half-hour delay. Nothing unusual was found in the aircraft and in the man's luggage.

According to the same report, a Cathay Pacific spokesperson apologized for the delay. However, the company emphasized that passengers' security and safety is its main priority especially given the recent situation in Paris and the plane crash in Sinai.
