There are rumors that Sony may roll out the Android Marshmallow update for for Sony Xperia C5 Ultra, C4, Z3 Plus, Z4 Tablet, M5, and M4 Aqua in early 2016.

Sony is yet to release the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 update for many of its devices. These handsets are still running on Android Lollipop 5.0, according to Xperia Blog.

The only Xperia devices, which are running on Android Lollipop 5.1.1 currently, are the Xperia Z5 Compact and the Xperia Z5. It was earlier speculated that Sony is waiting for the release of Xperia Z5 models to launch, before it starts to roll out the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 upgrade for its devices.

However, that does not seem to be case now. What seems to be true now is that Sony may skip the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 upgrade altogether and jump straight to Android Marshmallow.

Android Marshmallow was released on Oct. 5, along with Google Nexus 5X and Google Nexus 6P. The software upgrade seems to be a huge success with almost all devices in Nexus family already running on it.

It is expected that Sony will roll out the Android Marshmallow upgrade for Xperia C4, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia Z3 Plus, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia M5, and Xperia M4 Aqua. The upgrade may be released later this year, or early next year for these devices, according to Tampa Bay. The fate of the other devices is yet to be speculated.

Android Marshmallow will fix the problem of touch lag, over heating of the device, and RAM slowness. It will boost up the device constantly. The device will be equipped with the support for USB Type C connection, Bluetooth 4.2, finger print scanning, and 4G LTE data connection services after this upgrade will be installed in it.
