Koei Tecmo confirmed on Wednesday that "Dead or Alive Xtreme 3" will not be coming to European countries or the United States.

Tech experts say cultural differences between Japan, where the game originated and continues to enjoy popularity, and the rest of the world are largely the reasons that the game will not be released outside of its native land.

A representative from Koei Tecmo took to Facebook to explain to an inquiring fan why the company will not release the game outside of Japan.

The Facebook post reads, "Do you know many issues happening in video game industry with regard to how to treat female in video game industry? We do not want to talk those things here. But certainly we have gone through in last year or two to come to our decision. Thank you."

According to Kotaku, it sounds like Koei Tecmo is wanting to sidestep cultural values and differences especially between Japan and western countries. Some experts are also blaming "social justice warriors" as putting too much pressure and emphasis on the game as being sexist.

It is still not clear if other factors, like distribution costs and sales expectations, also influenced Koei Tecmo's decision to hold the release of "Dead or Alive Xtreme 3" in other regions.

Koei Tecmo's decision against the global distribution of the game has no doubt sparked debate on sexism and censorship in video games as well as other popular media.

"Dead or Alive Xtreme 3" is scheduled for a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita release on Feb. 25, 2016. For gamers who still want a copy of the game, they can still download it to the supported PlayStation consoles since they are not region-locked by default, according to Wired.

"Dead or Alive Xtreme 3" is the third installment in the series that is based on the "Dead or Alive" franchise.
