"Fifty Shades Darker" star Jamie Dornan is both terrified and excited to reprise his role as Christian Grey in the highly anticipated sequel. Dakota Johnson's onscreen partner revealed that he still sometimes cannot believe that he signed up to do the "Fifty Shades of Grey" franchise.

According to Moviepilot, Dornan was a bit worried that fans will think that he and his character is the same person. He pointed out that he could not be anymore different than Christian Grey.  He, however, shared that he cannot help but get excited whenever he plays the S&M role.

"I consider myself quite light-hearted, pretty easy-going, and I keep playing sick psychopath bastards! It kinda worries me sometimes how comfortable I am in that zone," he said.

Speaking to the Guardian, Dornan explained that he was well-aware why several actors turned down the role. The actor added that, at some point, he was scared that he will be typecast as a psychopath.

In the end, Dornan believed that he made the right decision. He said that he was proud of how the filmed turned out thanks to director Sam Taylor-Johnson and cinematographer Seamus McGarvey. He added that it did not hurt to be part of a film that grossed over half a billion dollars in the box office.

Multiple reports suggest that Dornan has been offered $1.5 million to go full frontal in the sequel. Although the actor has yet to deny or confirm these rumors, he was recently quoted saying that he was looking forward to "showing more" of his character in the sequel.

"Fifty Shades Darker" premieres February 2017.
