Tennis News: Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland Enters Semifinals, Eugenie Bouchard of Canada Out in WTA Shenzhen Open in China

Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland, tournament's top seed and current world's No. 5 beats out Wang Qiang of China to reach the semifinal stage, while sixth-seeded Eugenie Bouchard of Canada was eliminated by Timea Babos of Hungary at the quarterfinal round of WTA Shenzhen Open on Thursday.

According to Xinhua, holding all nine of her service games, the Polish star Radwanska needed just 63 minutes to beat Chinese Wang 6-3, 6-2 and advance to the next level of the competition.

"Last year we played each other in Tianjin, I think she played a much better match this time, but I really pushed myself to play my best tennis today," Radwanska said.

The top-seeded Pole was the big winner at the end of 2015 when she triumphed at the WTA Finals in Singapore in November. She will next face Anna-Lena Friedsam of Germany who is currently ranked as the world's No. 95.

The competition's front-runner started tennis at the early age of 5. Radwanska is currently 26 years of age was once the world's No. 2 in the WTA rankings. The pole is coached by Robert Radwanski and she plays right handed (double handed backhand). Her favorite surface are clay and hard.

She reached her career high in the doubles ranking at No. 16 on October 10, 2011.

In the other matches, Canada's Eugenie Bouchard lost her quarterfinal match and was eliminated from her first tournament since suffering concussion in a locker room fall last year in the US Open.

The tournament's sixth seed Bouchard failed to move to the next level of the competition and yielded to the unseeded Timea Babos of Hungary (ranked No. 70) 6-4, 6-4.

Anna-Lena Friedsam of Germany (ranked No. 95) beat Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic (ranked No. 102), 6-4, 2-6, 6-1, while American Alison Riske (ranked No. 97) rallied past Anett Kontaveit from Estonia (ranked No.91), 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.
