The 28-year-old forward has been made available for transfer by the Sunderland.

Fletcher has scored 23 goals in his 86 Premier League appearances for the Black Cats. He is in the final year of his contract with the football club.

Sunderland is about to sign  Senegalese Dame N'Doye from Trabzonspor, leaving Fletcher's chances of playing regularly this season slim.

Shanghai Shenhua and Beijing Guoan have shown interest in signing Fletcher. Shenhua has also shown interest in getting the services of Ivorian Cheick Tiote.

The club is based in Kangqiao, Shanghai and currently participates in the Chinese Super League.

Chinese clubs are looking to invest heavily in English Premier League players with potential for increased commercial revenues. Chinese outfits have also been very active in enticing South American and African players to move and to continue their football career in China.
