Chinese tech giant Huawei has announced that its GX8 smartphone will be coming to US this year for the price of $350.

Huawei GX8 smartphone features a 5.5-inch 1,920 x 1,080 Full HD display that includes a 2.5-degree curved surface and is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The device is durable as it features aircraft quality aluminum built using ceramic sand-blasting technology.

The GX8 phone is running the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. It is powered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 eight-core processor and packs a 2GB of RAM and a built-in 16GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card slot. The phone supports GSM networks in the United States, including with T-Mobile, MetroPCS, and AT&T. The handset also includes Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity and WiFi 802.11b/g/n. It is powered by a 3,000mAH capacity battery.

The phone is handy and slim as it only measures 3 inches wide, 5.98 inches long, 0.29 inches thick and 5.89 ounces. This device is suitable for music lovers as it promises to have a louder, richer, and clearer audio experience when listening to music or conversations.

A fingerprint sensor is also present on this device. According to Huawei, a user's fingerprint can unlock the device in just 0.5 seconds. This feature can also be used in answering calls or controlling the device's built-in alarms by keeping a finger against the sensor for a longer duration.

In terms of its camera, the GX8 sports a 13-megapixel main rear camera with 28mm wide‐angle sapphire lens, suitable for capturing sharp images in challenging conditions. In addition, the rear camera also supports optical image stabilization. The company reported that the phone camera is designed to take quality images in ultra‐low-light conditions using advanced flash features. Meanwhile, the front camera comes with a 5-megapixe front-facing shooter for selfies.

Huawei GX8 smartphone comes in three colors; Mystique Champagne, Space Grey, and Horizon Gold. The phone will be available in BestBuy.com, GetHuawei.com and Amazon.com in the first quarter of 2016 for the price of $349.99.
