Alves, 32, has been at Barcelona since 2008. But there have been suggestions that the right back is on the threshold of leaving Barca.

Barcelona recently extended his contract until June 2017 by signing him to a two-year deal, with the option to extend a further year. However, with the Chinese transfer window open until the 26th of this month, a deal could possibly come out of the closet if the reigning La Liga conquerors are willing to let Alves leave.

Chinese clubs have been very active in the transfer window, enticing high profile players from different leagues around the globe. They are spending a lot of money in to bolster their line-ups with world class footballers.

The list of South Americans and Africans in the Chinese league is significantly growing.

Jiangsu Suning has acquired the services of Brazilian stars Alex Teixiera and Ramires from Shakhtar Donetsk and Chelsea respectively.

Beijing Guoan also signed Renato Augusto, Ralf Teles and Kleber Pinheiro from the 2015 Brazilian champions Corinthians, while the Congolese central defender Assani Lukimya-Mulongoti was signed by the Liaoning Whowin.

Shanghai Greenland Shenhua recently signed Tim Cahill, Demba Ba and Fredy Guarin, while Hebei China Fortune also acquired the services of Gervinho and Stephane M'Bia.

Chinese Super League champions Guangzhou Evergrande have added Jackson Martinez to their squad.
