Venus Williams to Clash With Misaki Doi in Taiwan Open final

Top-seeded Venus Williams Has Reached Into The Finals of inaugural Taiwan Open. She Defeated Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan 7-5, 6-3.

Top-seeded Venus Williams will clash with second seeded Japan's Misaki Doi in the inaugural Taiwan Open Final on Sunday. Both players won their respective semi final matches on Saturday, setting up 'mouth watering' clash for tennis lovers on Sunday evening.

Venus Williams overcame Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan 7-5, 6-3, while Japan's Misaki Doi thrashed local favorite Hsieh Su-wei in straight sets 6-0, 6-2.       

The Sunday's clash between Venus Williams and Misaki Doi will be first ever match between two opponents. 

Venus Williams, winner of 7Grand Slams and former World no 1, is considered the'clear favorite' for Sunday's final match. On other hand, Japan's Misaki Doi is currently ranked 66th in ATP ranking and has only 1 ATP title to her credit.                

Venus is also enjoying a spectacular form in this tournament, as she is yet to drop a set.

Although her semi final clash against Yulia Putintseva was a pretty tough one. The former world no 1 had to especially grind in the first set. It was Yulia Putintseva's double fault followed by mishit forehand that presented a break point to Venus Williams. She eventually went on to win the first set 7-5.

The second set, however, was a pretty easy affair for 7 time Grand Slam Champion. She won the double  break point in deciding set and eventually won it 6-3.

Commenting about the match Williams said,"What a tough opponent today. She has so much energy. It was very difficult to win, but I'm very glad to be in the final tomorrow."
