Chinese smartphone manufacturer Gionee has officially launched its latest smartphone called the M5 Mini. The M5 Mini is a new addition to the M5 family, which is known for excellent quality and low cost devices.

After much anticipation, the Chinese company officially launched the M5 Mini smartphone. The rumors and speculations started since last year about the smartphone existence and the launch date. But all this rumors came to an end as the company unveiled the device on Feb. 10.

The Gionee M5 mini smartphone features a futuristic and sleek design. The phone is handy and compact as it only measures a dimension of 5.7X 2.8X 0.4 inches and weighs 189.5g. The device has a 2.5D Arc Edge Screen and a water drop display resistant. On its display, the device features a screen built from the HD IPS technology (High definition In-Plane Switching). According to Gionee, with this technology users will experience high-quality view from every angle on its liquid crystal display (LCD) screen with high resolution. In addition, the screen also supports 5 point contact capacitive multi-touch feature.

The smartphone is powered by MT6580 processor that has four cores with a central processing unit speed of 1.3GHz. It comes with 2GB of RAM and built-in internal memory of 16GB that can be extended up to 128GB via a microSD card. The phone is powered by  a 4,000 mah capacity battery, which according to Gionee, supports fast charging and serves as a power bank as well.

Gionee claims that with its latest technology, in just ten minutes of charging, users can have enough power for one and a half hour of talk time and more than two hours of nonstop music or almost two days on standby. Moreover, with full battery power, users can experience more than eighteen hours of non-stop call conversations, about one day of audio activity and a standby time of two weeks.

The Gionee M5 Mini sports an 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front shooter. What make this smartphone more interesting is that it has a built-in Digital Theatre System that delivers multichannel audio technologies capable of discrete 5.1 and 6.1 channels of surround sound. The phone also supports On-the-Go technology (OTG), WCDMA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and a dual SIM configuration.
