"The Division" wrapped up its open beta phase on Feb. 22. "The Division" publisher Ubisoft claims that at least 6.4 million users participated in the successful open beta release of the upcoming third-person shooter title.

Ubisoft said in press release that the beta release of "The Division" marks the biggest ever release for a new IP in the current console generation.

The company said that an average beta tester of "The Division" clocked in about five hours of game time, with more than a third of that figure playing on player vs. player mode.

In a statement posted on the official "The Division" website, Ubisoft wrote, "The PVP-enabled Zone proved to be particularly popular, with players spending around 2-hours in the PVP zone."

Ubisoft added that more than 63,309,800 contaminated items were extracted out of the Dark Zone.

"The Division" is expected to hit the shelves on March 8. The game will be simultaneously released on Xbox One, Windows PC and PlayStation 4. However, Ubisoft plans to release future downloadable contents as part of "The Division" season pass. Just like the open beta scheme, these contents will be released first on the Xbox One platform and gamers on the PlayStation 4 and Windows PC platforms will have to wait 30 days before they can get their hands on the content.

On Feb. 24, Ubisoft released a new "The Division" gameplay trailer. The game runs on 60 frames per second on the PC platform.

"The Division" is billed as an AAA title. The PC version of "The Division" game requires at least an Intel Core i5-2400 or AMD FX-6100 CPU with 6GB of RAM. A minimum of Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 with 2GB of VRAM or equivalent is needed for its video card. The game also needs at least 40GB of free hard drive space.
