The former Texas Longhorns hotshot is shooting 51.0 percent from the field - the Eastern Conference second-best for rookies. He registered his first two career double-doubles and recorded a run of nine consecutive double-figure scoring games during the month.

Turner dropped 16 points and a career-high in protecting the rim with 6 blocked shots in the Pacers' 101-98 win against the Oklahoma City Thunder on February 19.

The Timberwolves's No. 1 overall pick for the year 2015 Towns is claiming the league's monthly honor for the fourth consecutive time.  He is leading all rookies in points per game, averaging 21.1. He also beat all the first-year players in rebounds with 11.8 boards per contest. Towns has the longest playing time among rookies with 34.6 minutes per outing.

The current NBA Skills Challenge champion posted nine double-double performances in 11 games the Timberwolves played during the month, including the 30-point and 15-rebound production in their 112-110 triumph over the New Orleans Pelicans on February 27.

The product of the University of Kentucky registered his career-high 35 points and posted 11 boards in their February 10 match against Toronto Raptors, which they ended with a 117-112 victory. On February 6, Towns scored 26 points and matched his career high 17 rebounds in a 112-105 win over the Chicago Bulls.

The other nominees for the NBA's monthly award are Los Angeles Lakers' D'Angelo Russell, Denver Nuggets' Emmanuel Mudiay and Nikola Jokic, New York Knicks' Kristaps Porzingis, Philadelphia 76ers' Jahlil Okafor and Phoenix Suns' Devin Booker.
