NBA Recap: Boston Celtics Rout Memphis Grizzlies for 14th Consecutive Victory at Home

Eastern Conference third leading team Boston Celtics continued their supremacy at home by crushing the visiting Memphis Grizzlies with a 20-point margin 116-96 victory at the TD Garden on Wednesday night.

Starting guard Isaiah Thomas scored 16 points of his game-high 22 points in the third period and closed the Grizzlies' 3-point lead to give Boston a 16-point advantag. This is the 14th straight triumph at home for the Celtics.

Reserve Evan Turner, who went 6 for 10 from the floor, had 16 points and 8 assists, while starters Jae Crowder and Avery Bradley chipped in  15 points each for the Celtics.

The Grizzlies were led by JaMychal Green with a double-double game performance of 17 points and 13 rebounds. Rookie Jarell Martin added 16 points in 7 for 10 shooting from the field.

Memphis starting guard Mario Chalmers had 11 points, 5 boards and 5 assists - but was unable to finish the game after sustaining a right foot injury during the third quarter of the match. Eight-time All-Star Vince Carter finished the night with 17 points for Memphis, who were without center Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph due to injuries.

The Grizzlies ended the first half with a three-point lead 55-52, but the Celtics made a 31-12 run in the third period with Thomas doing a majority of the scoring to end the quarter with a 83-67 lead.

In the fourth quarter, Boston kept up their good shooting game and pounded the Grizzlies to establish a 22-point lead 98-76 courtesy of a three-point shot by Bradley with 8:10 minutes left in game. The Celtics never looked back and sealed the win.

The Celtics will be hosting the Houston Rockets and the New Orleans Pelicans will be visiting the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday.
