The 'Destiny' Spring update, also known as the April Update, can be downloaded by gamers for free as long as they own a copy of the game and 'The Taken King' expansion.

The April update will be the first major 'Destiny' update since the release of 'The Taken King' expansion in September 2015. Bungie is yet to confirm the specifics of the update, but fans are expecting some major additions to the game. Aside from new gears and quests, gamers are also expecting an increase in Light Level cap. It is rumored that the April update will bring in new PvE Challenges as well as new Crucible and Sandbox updates.

Although Bungie has been relatively quiet about the update, the company continues to tease gamers with new quest information. According to Engadget, there are talks about a new quest that revolves around the mysterious Blighted Chalice strike. One of the most requested feature, raiding, will most likely be dismissed in the upcoming update.

According to Digital Trends, the April update will be followed by a proper paid expansion next year. Both Bungie and Activision have hinted that the next major expansion will be "large," a statement that led many gamers believe to be about 'The Taken King.'
