Honda's luxury car division Acura recently unveiled the new 2017 Acura NSX. The second generation NSX sports a hybrid engine with massive power and lots of new upgrades and improvements over its predecessor.

In comparison, the first generation Acura NSX has a V6 engine with 290 horsepower delivered on a rear-wheel drive configuration. Not only that, the 2017 Acura NSX sports a small electric motor mounted into the V6 engine with two more electric motors integrated on the front axle. The result of this upgrade is a massive 573 horsepower output with 476 pound-foot torque.

It is true that Acura may be putting up too much weight on the new NSX with all these massive upgrades. Official specs reveal that the 2017 NSX weight 3,803 pounds. A figure which some car analysts consider to be more fitting for a muscle car that the NSX. On the other hand, despite its massive weight, the 2017 NSX is still a monster on the track.

The 2017 Acura NSX is fitted with an all-wheel drive system with an impressive launch control. With these new technologies fitted on the car, along with its massive engine, the 2017 NSX can accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in exactly three seconds.

The biggest mystery so far concerns the NSX's lithium-ion batteries which power the car's electric motors. Experts believe that the car does not require owners to plug it in order to recharge the batteries. Instead, the batteries are constantly charged via regenerative braking. The 2017 Acura NSX has an EPA rating of 21mpg for combined driving, according to Jalopnik.

With all these impressive specs comes a price. According to Ars Technica, the 2017 Acura NSX costs $156,000, and that is just for the base model. Experts believe that the price tag can go as high as $200,000 should customers opt for all the  perks and options that come with the car.
