The tech community was surprised after an unannounced enterprise version of the Google Glass appeared on eBay. At the time of this writing, the auction for the Google Glass has reached a price of $3,250 and the figure is increasing.

The Google Glass auction on eBay was first spotted and reported by 9to5Google, who confirmed the legitimacy of the item. The auction has a simple title "Google Glass (black)" and the images provided by the user are somewhat similar to the device highlighted by a Google FCC filing which surfaced back in December 2015.

The Google Glass posted on eBay features a new folding hinge, an outward-facing LED light and a new charging interface. According to Ars Technica, the word "GLASS" is printed on the inside of the plastic hinge.

Google, along with its parent company Alphabet, is yet to release a statement regarding the authenticity of the item posted on eBay.

While some users initially dismissed the item as a hoax, it has gone viral all over social media and has received a significant number of bids. Should the item turn out to be a fake, whoever made it went to great lengths in order to make the device look legitimate.

The Google Glass is being auctioned by a pawnshop based in San Francisco. The name of the firm is AZ Pawnbrokers and attempts to contact the pawnshop has been unsuccessful so far.

Despite the leak of the FCC filing in December 2015, Google and Alphabet has been in total media silence regarding the status of the Google Glass, as well as the rumored Enterprise version of the device. What is certain is that the Google Glass project was merged into a new endeavor called Project Aura. Google is yet to provide specifics about what Project Aura is really about.
