T-Mobile chief executive officer John Legere has joined the ranks of Pope Francis as one of the few individuals with their very own Twitter emoji.

In an interview with CNNMoney, Legere said, "I hear every minute every day how we're doing and what we need to do different. And when I touch as many people as I can, I not only learn and become a better CEO, but I see customers coming in. they just say, 'I can't believe you're on Twitter and you favorite my tweet. I'm switching!' I'll take that."

Legere made his name on social media through his outspoken views and no-holds-barred approach on platforms like Twitter. On several occasions, he managed to troll Republican presidential aspirant Donald Trump. Using this persona, he helped propel T-Mobile as one of the dominant players in the wireless carrier industry by breaking traditions and conventions held by the industry for several years.

The 57-year-old T-Mobile executive is known for his social media antics. Some analysts see Legere's social media tactics as a mix of both professional and personal approach to customers. Seeing how T-Mobile continues to grow, it appears that Legere's tactics are working just fine for the company.

Legere usually shares random selfies and GIFs on his Twitter account. Sometimes he even post video responses to rivals, with his added sense of profanity.

According to Quartz, Legere posts an average of 16 tweets a day. In celebration of the honor given to him by Twitter, Legere recently shared a photo of him wearing a pink hoodie with his own emoji emblazoned on it.

Twitter has worked with several companies in making their emoji, but this usually involves a payment. However, what separates Legere, and Pope Francis from this bunch is that Twitter activated their emoji completely for free.
