Nearly 20,000 China-made scarves belonging to Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump have been recalled, as they did not to meet the United States' federal flammability standards for clothing and pose a risk of burning, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Wednesday.

The rayon scarves, which are being displayed and sold at retailers' outlet like TJ Maxx and Lord & Taylor as well as online platforms like Amazon, were made in China and failed to pass the strict flammability regulations the United States' imposes on clothing and textile materials.

"This is a dangerous product," Scott Wolfson, CPSC spokesman, said. "Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled scarves and return them to the place where purchased for a full refund."

The regulator revealed that it initially noticed the scarves online. Then, experts got a sample of the scarves collection and tested its flammability. So far, no reports of injuries have been made.

"We're disappointed to learn of the need for Global Brands Group, our license partner, to recall two styles of Ivanka Trump scarves," Tricia Whalen, a representative of Ivanka Trump Collection, said, "but we are relieved that immediate action is being taken."

"We're seeing to it that this issue is fixed immediately," she added.

Hong Kong-based lifestyle product firm Global Brands Group, on the other hand, refused to comment on the issue, according to CNN Money.

The recalled items were sold between October 2014 and January 2016. The two flammable styles are reported to be the 'Beach Wave' and 'Brushstroke Oblong' - both come with 'Ivanka Trump' black labels embroidered in silver lettering.

Donald Trump has since acknowledged that a number of his merchandise are indeed made in China.

"I talk about my ties in speeches. I'm open," he said. "I say my ties many times are made in China. It's very hard to have apparel made in this country."
