Middling squad Chongqing Lifan FC (1-1-4, 7 points) will try to snap a five-game winless slide against struggling capital city team Beijing Guoan FC (1-2-2, 5 points) in a 2016 Chinese Super League match scheduled at the Chongqing Olympic Sports Center on Saturday, April 30th.

Chongqing Lifan is currently settled at the eighth spot of the China top flight table after losing one and going on four consecutive drawn matches following their opening day upset victory over defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande last March.

Manager Chang Woe-ryong's men are coming off a 1-1 draw with highly-improved club Hangzhou Greentown FC on the road at the Yellow Dragon Sports Center on April 22nd, as per Soccerway.

The match was goalless after the first half of play and continued to be so until Hangzhou midfielder Feng Gang was able to strike past Chongqing goalkeeper Deng Xiaofei in the 69th minute off an assist by teammate Ge Zhen.

It looked like the Green Giants will earn their third win of the season as they reached full time still ahead, but Chongqing managed to score one in stoppage time, courtesy of midfielder Wang Dong, to salvage the draw and share a point in the overall standings.

Meanwhile, Beijing continued its struggle for wins early in the season as they were held to a 0-0 tie by Liaoning Whowin FC at their home field of Workers' Stadium last Saturday, as reported by CCTV.

After winning their first game on the road against Hangzhou on April 17th, the Imperial Guards failed to make it two in a row and find their first win at home during their most recent match.

However, this road game against Chongqing may just be what Alberto Zaccheroni's side needs to finally have a breakthrough this season.

The predicted result is a close 1-0 win for Beijing Guoan.
