e-Commerce company eBay has improved the mobile experience on both its Android and iOS platforms by releasing an update that will overhaul its user interface.

The company announced that the update will be rolled out to the Android platform on May 2, while users on the iOS platform will have to wait for a couple more days before they receive the update.

Users of the eBay mobile app on the Android platform might notice the new color scheme of the app's user interface. The old eBay app sports mostly a white color scheme. With the new update, users will notice a significant shift not only in color scheme, but also the overall design of the app.

The updated eBay mobile app has an innovative material design. It has a colorful hamburger menu which slides out from the left side, and a matching blue header on the main page of the mobile app.

The search bar of the new eBay app now appears to be more like the Google search bar. Users of the updated app will also notice the new Floating Action Button located at the bottom-right part of the screen. The action button can be used for quickly posting a new auction listing.

While the a significant portion of the update brought a new user interface design that looks a lot like Google's material design concept, the main goal of the update is to make user navigation much easier compared to the previous design. The e-commerce firm claims that with the new design interface, users can easily find what they are looking for or post products that they want to sell.
