The Sacramento Kings are reportedly making headway rapidly in discussions with the former head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies Dave Joerger to take over as the club's new bench boss, sources told The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Wojnarowski, through his sources, even noted in the report that the Kings picked up the recently dismissed bench head tactician and his family with a private jet on Sunday, and that team president Vlade Divac spent "considerable time" discussing a partnership with Joerger.

The deal is believed to be worth about $12 million over three years. On the other hand, Marc Stein of ESPN has reported that the two parties are discussing a four-year contract with $16-million value.

Joerger jumped to the top of the Kings' wish list moments after he was terminated by the Robert Pera majority-owned club on Saturday. The two-time CBA Coach of the Year winner recently asked the Southwest division team permission to interview for Sacramento's opening and the two sides parted ways due to the 42-year-old Joerger's pursuit of other team's openings.

Full autonomy over hiring his own assistant coaching staff will be given to the former Memphis coach by the Kings. Bill Bayno, who was the former assistant coach of the Toronto Raptors, is among the likely candidates for the job.

Joerger, who was a 2007 NBA D-League champion coach, became part of the Grizzlies in the 2007-08 season as an assistant coach. He was promoted to replace head coach Lionel Hollins after the 2013 Western Conference finals, where the Grizzlies failed to accomplish the task of reaching the NBA Finals.

Joerger is a five-time minor-league champion coach and was named Western Conference Coach of the Month of January in his first year as Memphis head coach.

In his three seasons with the Grizzlies, the Staples, Minnesota native has compiled a 147-99 overall win-loss record with 9-13 in the postseason.
