The post gained almost 3,000 likes from the page's followers along with over 1,000 comments from fans expressing their condolences, sentiments, and memories of the 63-year-old singer.

Jamison took on the lead vocals for Survivor from 1984 through 1988, writing and performing huge hits such as "Is This Love", "The Moment of Truth" for the film "The Karate Kid" and "Burning Heart" from Rocky IV. Going his own path, he also recorded the single "I'm Always Here" that became the official theme song for then-popular TV series "Baywatch."

Before Jamison joined the group, Survivor vocalist David Bickler decided to leave the band due to vocal chord problems, following the recording of their greatest hit, Grammy-winning track "Eye of the Tiger" for "Rocky III."

After Cobra disbanded, Jamison then took the place of Bickler as lead singer for Survivor with which he recorded three albums with the rock band such as "Vital Signs" (1984), "When Seconds Count" (1986) and "Too Hot to Sleep" (1988).

Although the band members went their separate ways in 1989, they got back together in 1993 with Bickler as their vocalist once again. In 2000, Jamison came back to the scene and reprised his frontman role for six more years.

The band recently had an onstage performance in Morgan Hill, California last Aug. 30. They were slotted for another tour in Parker, Colorado on Sept. 12.
