Stephen Curry of the defending league champions Golden State Warriors has won his second Maurice Podoloff trophy and became the NBA's first unanimous MVP winner in the association's history.

On Tuesday, Curry, who is the 2016 NBA scoring and steals champion, earned all the 131 first-place votes from the committee of NBA broadcasters and sportswriters, for a total of 1,310 points and achieved an accomplishment that is so rare, even some former basketball greats failed to attain it.

"I never really set out to change the game. I never thought that would happen in my career," Curry said. "What I wanted to do was just be myself. ... I know it inspires a lot of the next generation, a lot of people who love the game of basketball to value the skill of it, value the fact that you can work every single day to get better. You've got to be able to put the time and the work. That's how I got here, that's how I continue to get better every single day."

Curry led the Golden State Warriors to a record-setting season. The 2015-16 regular season top team broke the long standing record held by the 1995-96 Michael Jordan-led Chicago Bulls of 72 wins. The Warriors managed to earn a spot in league's history book after they claimed their 73rd victory against the Memphis Grizzlies on April 13, 2016, becoming the team with the most wins in a single season.

Curry led the league with 30.1 points per game average and broke his record from beyond the arc region by connecting 402, making history of becoming the first player in NBA to top 300.

The former Davidson Wildcats hotshot averaged 6.7 assists and 5.4 rebounds and led the NBA with 2.1 steals per game. Curry is a 50.4 percent shooter from the field, 45.4 percent from the 3-point marker and 90.8 percent from the charity line.
