In April, a reddit user going by Nijikai shared a very interesting video from Youtube posted by Dillonmcrich. The video presents a "Rick and Morty" theory grounded on the fact that the show's universe has an infinite number of realities. According to Dillonmerich, this concept is integral in figuring out what is next for the series.

"This concept of an infinite multiverse is key to Rick and Morty's themes and plots. But it's also the key to how the show's creators, Roiland and Harmon, tricked their entire fan base into thinking that everyone's favorite Gromflomite was dead," explained by Dillonmcrich on the video, as reported by Upvoted.

More recently, Movie Pilot also put forward their own theories regarding the fate of the "Rick and Morty" characters.

The end of "Rick and Morty" Season 2 saw Rick sentenced to life in prison for the multiple crimes he has committed over the years. Rick surrendered himself to the authorities in order for Morty, Summer and the rest of his crew to remain innocent from harboring a fugitive. Meanwhile, while Rick is serving his time, the earth has been taken over by the Galactic Federation.

According to Movie Pilot, Rick would most definitely try to escape. The news publication argues that considering Rick's intelligence, there is no way he would be keen on stewing in prison. Moreover, the theory suggests that Morty would find a way to contact Rick. It is possible that Morty would be able to convince Rick to escape in order to restore everything on Earth back to normal.

There has yet to be an announcement as to when the third season of "Rick and Morty" would return to Adult Swim. However, according to Mike McMahan, a writer for the animated series, recording for the program has already commenced.
