Although "The Elder Scrolls" franchise is one of the most popular franchises ever created in the gaming industry, Bethesda may have no plans on releasing the successor of "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" - at least not until 2019.

It is said that there is a possibility that the "Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" successor, rumored to be called "Elder Scrolls 6" or "Skyrim 2," will be released by 2019, as Bethesda is too busy working on the current lineup that they may showcased during Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016.

According to reports, the delay of "The Elder Scrolls 6" development was due to Bethesda's schedule, as the developing company is presently focused on creating updates and DLCs for its latest installment of "Fallout" franchise, "Fallout 4."

On a lighter note, based on previous releases, "Elder Scrolls 6" 2019 release is highly likely, as the company usually releases "Elder Scrolls" installment every after 4-6 years. It can be remembered that "The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind" was released in 2002, and after 4 years," The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" hit the shelves. Fast forward 5 years, "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" was released to the public and gain remarkable reviews and sales.

If the given timeline is to be believed, fans may expect the new "Elder Scrolls 6" between 2019-2021.

Meanwhile, it is said that regardless of how popular "Elder Scrolls" franchise is or how long was the gap between franchise releases, Bethesda chooses to release games organically to make sure that their game titles will be remarkable to play with.
