ZTE Axon 7 Combines High-End Specs With Budget Friendly Price

Just like many Chinese smartphone manufacturers, ZTE is making a name in the market for the high-end specs of its devices which are sold at a very reasonable price. ZTE has unveiled its latest creation, the Axon 7, the successor to the company's Axon flagship launched last year.

The Axon 7 continues the vision that its predecessors started, a combination of high-end specs and materials all combined in a device that is very friendly to the pocket.

In terms of hardware specs, the Axon 7 is not a pushover. In fact, in can easily rival some flagship devices released by major manufacturers like Samsung or HTC. At the heart of the Axon 7 is a Snapdragon 820, Qualcomm's fastest processor to date with a clock speed of 2.2GHz.

According to CNet, the entry-level Axon 7 model has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space. There is also a higher-tiered model with 128GB storage space and 6GB of RAM. Both models' storage space can be expanded by up to 128GB via microSD.

At the back of the Axon 7 is a fingerprint scanner, a feature that is increasingly becoming ubiquitous with most high-end smartphones nowadays. ZTE's latest flagship smartphone sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED display panel with 2560x1440 resolution and curved edges. The display is protected by the Gorilla Glass 4.

Just like most AMOLED displays, the Axon 7 renders rich and vibrant colors. Its contrast levels can easily rival some of Samsung's latest high-end smartphones.

According to The Verge, the Axon 7 sports a 3250mAh battery pack and supports Qualcomm's QuickCharge 3.0, which the company claims can charge the battery up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes. The QuickCharge feature can charge the device to 100 percent in about 100 minutes.

The Axon 7 has a 20-megapixel rear-facing camera with optical stabilization, f/1.8 lens, and 4K video recording capability. It also has an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. The smartphone has a USB Type-C port which can be used for charging the battery and data transfer. The Axon 7 runs on Android 6.0 .1 Marshmallow right out of the box.

As for its price, the 128GB model costs $639, while the 64GB model costs $450.
