While Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice did not live up to the fans', as well as the studio's expectations, the good news is that Warner Bros. seems to have not lost their faith in David Ayer's Suicide Squad. Aside from Harley Quinn's spin-off film, there is word that fans will also get to see Joker (Jared Leto) and Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney) headline their respective movies.

There has been no confirmation of this news yet, but according to We Got This Covered, an insider revealed that Warner Bros. is so sure of Suicide Squad's success that they are already looking into how they can develop the characters, specifically Leto's Joker and Courtney's Captain Boomerang.

"I've heard more than a few talks of giving some of the other Task Force X members their own spinoffs, and like the Harley Quinn one, these films would open the door for a ton of new DC characters to show up," the source said. "The Joker is a definite possibility for a spinoff, and Jared [Leto] seems up for it from what I've been told. They're also really hot on Jai Courtney's character Boomerang right now. Nothing's set in stone yet, but you're definitely going to be seeing a lot more of these guys in the years to come."

As for Harley Quinn's solo movie, it has been reported that it will be composed of mostly female characters. The upcoming film will feature other DC Comics female heroes, as well as villains.

Although Warner Bros. is keeping the details of Robbie's Suicide Squad spin-off tight, there are rumors that The Hunger Games' Jenna Malone will join as Batgirl. Other characters who might appear in the Harley Quinn solo movie are Katana, Poison Ivy, and Bumblebee, as they have been recently introduced via the DC SuperHero Girls line.

Meanwhile, parents looking forward to watching Suicide Squad when it premieres on Aug. 5 will be glad to know that they can bring their children with them as producers have kept it PG-13.
