A wild NBA trade rumor is circulating online at the moment and it is a scenario involving Philadelphia 76ers center Nerlens Noel in exchange for Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose.

Chicago is allegedly trying to find a way to deal the 2011 NBA MVP this summer as the franchise "turns its attention to rebuilding their next contending team" and Philadelphia could take the bait and give up the sixth overall pick of the 2013 draft to make it happen, according to Metro.

Speculations of an impending breakup between Rose and the Bulls had been out since last summer and with the six-time NBA champion franchise not qualifying in the playoffs for the first time in a long while this year, the rumors had become louder than ever.

Rose is not the only player who is speculated to exit the team this offseason as unrestricted free agents Pau Gasol and Joakim Noah are expected to accept offers from interested clubs while Jimmy Butler and Taj Gibson were allegedly set to be shopped as well.

Meanwhile, the Sixers are loaded with young talent in their frontline with the impending debut of 2014 third overall pick Joel Embiid next season and the arrival of Croatian big man Dario Saric from Europe.

Head coach Brett Brown already has last year's third overall selection Jahlil Okafor in his frontcourt lineup and will also be set to draft LSU's 6-foot-10 forward Ben Simmons as the top pick this June, adding more inexperienced frontliners.

With that, new team president and general manager Bryan Colangelo wants either Noel or Okafor to be traded before draft night for a veteran player, as per ESPN, preferably a point guard that could orchestrate the offense for the youngsters and also provide locker room leadership.

The 27-year-old Rose seems to fit the bill, especially now that the Bulls are said to be considering Butler as their new team leader and they want to build their roster of the future around him.
