After submitting Gegard Mousasi at UFC Fight Night 50, Ronaldo Souza demands a title shot during his post-fight conference in Leylard, Connecticut, and wants UFC President Dana White to talk to his manager.

"At first, I thought it was going to be much easier to take him down," Jacare said on the post-event meeting at the Foxwoods Resort Casino. "I was very well trained for this; my takedowns were on point, so I had some difficulties that I had to overcome, but surely this puts me in line for a title shot, and I want to fight the champion."

When told that White might want him to be in another fight before getting a shot at the title, Jacare stated, through the help of interpreter Derek Lee, that "he works for the league and they can do whatever they want."

However, Souza will not be that persuaded since he beat the man who gave problems to the current middleweight challenger Lyoto Machida in an impressive fashion.

In an interview with MMAjunkie.com, the 34-year-old said that he thinks he deserves a title shot and White needs to talk to his manager about the arrangements.

Discussions will be done as the company plots their next move based on the outcome of the Weidman-Belfort collision at UFC 181 in Las Vegas on December 6. Souza undeniably included himself in the talks by dominating over Mousasi but the next contender for the middleweight title is yet to be decided.

Luke Rockhold could be the man standing in his way. Rockhold was the man who defeated him for the title of the now non-operational Strikeforce. If he is the man referred by Dana White as Souza's next opponent, Rockhold still needs to score a win over Michael Bisping in November.

After transferring to UFC, Souza remains undefeated in the league with his loss to Rockhold in 2011 as his last.
