Recent polls show that Republicans may have the edge of gaining a majority of the Senate seats come this November elections.

Polls from HuffPost Pollster, which integrated surveys across the nation, and NBC/Marist Polls revealed a tight senatorial race.

The new Huffpost Pollster model took into account three new surveys conducted by NBC News/Marist Polls and polls in each state ran by YouGov online, CBS News and The New York Times.

According to the model, the tightest senatorial races are underway in North Carolina, Arkansas, Iowa, Colorado, Alaska and Kentucky with only a one to two points difference.

In other competitive states, such as West Virginia, South Dakota and Montana, the odds are more in favor of Republicans with a slightly wider margin. In these states, the Democrats campaign for new candidates as the incumbents are retiring.

The model also introduced the "Orman Factor," which accounted for independent Kansas candidate Greg Orman's probability of winning.

Experts believe that Orman, who leads Pat Roberts, R-Kan., could determine Senate control in November if he wins.

Overall, the Republicans have 55 percent chance of gaining majority control in the Senate in November, Huffpost said.

A week ago, this number was 48 percent. However, the pollster believed that new polls accounting for the Republicans' progress in key states helped nudge GOP's chances.

These new polls included the NBC News/Marist Polls, which revealed two new leads for the Republicans.

For instance, Tom Cotton (R-Ark), leads by five points against the Democratic incumbent Sen. Mark Pryor in Arkansas.

In Kentucky, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky), leads by eight points against his Democratic challenger Alison Lundergan Grimes.

However, in Colorado, incumbent Democrat Mark Udal, (D-Col)., leads with 48 pecent likely votes over Rep. Cory Gardner who has 42 percent likely votes.

The Democrats currently hold the Senate majority with 55 seats and support from two Independents. The Republicans need a net of six seats to gain control of the Senate in November.
