Manchester City winger Kevin De Bruyne recently said that he is "personally happy" to know that Paris Saint-Germain striker and incoming free agent Zlatan Ibrahimović could join the Premier League with cross-city rival Manchester United this summer.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder, who is currently suited up for the Belgium national team competing in the ongoing Euro 2016, told Metro that it will be "good" for Ibrahimović and the English first division league if the Sweden captain would decide to play in England next season.

"I think it will be good for him," said De Bruyne. "He's lived already in a couple of cities, so I think he will take care of himself."

"I personally like it very much, so I'm happy with the way everything's going over there. That is, for me, is very important. He's a great addition, so that's good for the league," the Belgian added.

Belgium is set to face Sweden at the Allianz Riviera in Nice on Wednesday in the final match of Group E competitions in the current Euro 2016.

Caught Offside noted that while a lot of people, including opposing fans, players, coaches, may be dreading the arrival of the four-time Ligue 1 champion to the Premier League with the Red Devils, De Bruyne is not one of them as he "doesn't seem to mind and welcomes the chance to see and play against the 34-year-old Swedish striker in England".

Zlatan Ibrahimović recently led Paris Saint-Germain to their fourth straight French domestic title, all with him, while also leading the league in goalscoring.

His latest Ligue 1 triumph saw him put up career-high numbers in goals scored with 38 in 31 appearances in the domestic league while 50 in 51 games in all competitions, which indicates that he still got what it takes to compete at the highest level despite his advanced age.

De Bruyne's Manchester City squad eliminated Ibrahimović's PSG in the quarterfinals of last season's UEFA Champions League tournament, 3-2 on aggregate.
