Anhui Wenyi Tops Hebei Xianglan in 19th Round of Chinese National Basketball League

The red-hot Anhui Wenyi continued their winning streak as they racked up another impressive victory over the eighth-ranked Hebei Xianglan with a 120-107 triumph in the 19th round of the Chinese National Basketball League (NBL) on Sunday.

Anhui now has the league's longest winning streak this season with 14-straight victories won after a heart-breaking 111-110 defeat against Shaanxi Xinda Wolves early last month.With the win, Anhui has improved to a 17-2 win-loss record and still shares the top spot of the league table with the Wolves, who won Lhasa 126-92.

According to Asia-Basket, the 2014 NBA D-League All-Star Manny Harris finished the match with a remarkable game performance of 49 huge points and nine rebounds along with five assists and two steals to lead Anhui to the victory. The former Cleveland Cavalier 6-foot-5 tall guard went 16 for 34 from the field and made 10 of 13 from the foul line in 48 minutes on the court.

Former Washington Wizards forward Chris Singleton had an outstanding double-double game production of 38 points and a game-high 14 boards for the winners. Local players YongGang Zhang and Shouwei Cun contributed 11 points and 10 points respectively for Anhui.

Foreign basketball reinforcements Shannon Shorter and Tony Mitchelle led Hebei with 43 points and 22 points respectively.

According to NowGoal, the winning team ended the first 24 minutes of the game with a huge 16-point lead 59-43 as both squads headed to their respective locker rooms.  Anhui was able to protect their lead and contain Hebei from trying to fight back as they maintained their double-digit advantage as the third period ended 93-77.

With a comfortable lead, Hebei ran out of gas as Anhui wrapped up their win number 17.
