James Tyler of the Jiangsu Lions Claims Player of the Week Award in Chinese NBL Round 22

Former NBA Developmental League player James Tyler of the Jiangsu Lions had a spectacular double-double performance, earning him the right to be named Asia-Basket.com NBL Player of the Week in the 22nd round of China's professional minor basketball league.

The 28-year-old American professional basketball player, who used to play for the Maine Red Claws in the 2014-15 season of the NBA D-League, showed off a very remarkable game performance by pouring in 42 big points and pulling down 28 rebounds along with three blocked shots. Tyler led the Lions to victory against Lhasa with a 138-127 victory on Sunday night.

The veteran center has turned out to be the Chinese club's top player with his very imposing stats this season. The 7-foot-2 tall native of Murfreesboro, North Carolina has led Jiangsu to a 7-15 win-loss record. The team now sits at the 11th spot of the league table.

According to Asia-Basket report, Tyler is the NBL's third-best in rebounding, having an average of 16.4 boards per outing.  He is also the league's third leading rim protector averaging an outstanding 2.9 blocked shots per game, and registering a solid 63.5 percent shooting accuracy from the field.

In the Lion's most recent game, Tyler posted an amazing 19 for 24 shooting clip from the two-point area and played for 46 minutes in the hardwood against Lhasa, according to EuroBasket.

The second best player in the last round of games was the former Austin Toros forward Tyler Wilkerson of the league's leader Shaanxi Xinda Wolves.  The 28-year-old American basketball player had a double-double game performance of 32 points and 14 rebounds.

He is the league's ninth-leading scorer this season averaging 31.7 points per game. Wilkerson is the fifth-best rebounder grabbing 14.3 boards and the sixth-leading shot blocker of the season with 1.6 blocked shots per contest.
