Lowly squad Chongqing Lifan FC (5-8-6, 21 points) and bottom two club Shijiazhuang Ever Bright FC (4-9-6, 18 points) are scheduled to face one another at the Chongqing Olympic Sports Center this Sunday, July 24 in a 2016 Chinese Super League season game.

Chongqing Lifan is playing inconsistently these past few weeks, alternating three wins and three losses in their last six assignments. The team is presently at 12th place in the overall standings, three points above the relegation area but a long 12 points away from the third and final AFC Champions League spot currently held by Shanghai SIPG.

Head coach Chang Woe-ryong's boys were defeated by Shanghai SIPG, 3-5, in a high-scoring encounter on Wednesday at the Shanghai Stadium, via Xinhuanet.

An own goal from Chongqing center back Luo Qing at the 14th minute started the scoring for SIPG before his teammate, winger Wu Lei, scored again at the 26th.

It was a back-and-forth offensive attack for both squads from there as Lifan netted the next three goals, courtesy of Emanuel Gigliotti and a double from Wang Dong, before the hosts finished the match with three straight goals as well, from Lu Wenjun, Dario Conca, and another strike from Wu.

Meanwhile, Shijiazhuang Ever Bright snapped its five-game winless slide with a 2-1 victory over unfortunate team Shanghai Greenland Shenhua FC on Thursday at their home ground of Yutong International Sports Center, as per Soccerway.

Former Seattle Sounders striker Obafemi Martine opened the scoring at the 18th minute for Shenhua, but Ever Bright managed to score two goals in the second half with local striker Mao Jianqing and South Korean import Cho Yong-hyung to complete the comeback win.

The predicted result is a 1-0 upset win for Shijiazhuang Ever Bright for their second straight victory.
