Henan Shendian Laojiu Tops Lhasa Sukhavati in 25th Round of Chinese National Basketball League

After losing to Anhui Wenyi last Friday, Henan Shendian Laojiu immediately bounced back and crushed the 13th-ranked Lhasa Sukhavati with a 114-101 victory in the 25th round of the Chinese National Basketball League (NBL) on Sunday.

With the win, the host team improved to an 18-7 win-loss record and remain the third club on the league table.

According to Asia-Basket, Henan's foreign basketball reinforcements scored a combined 65 points and pulled 18 rebounds to lead the team to victory. Former University of Memphis Tigers standout Darius Washington had 33 points and eight boards while former Los Angeles Lakers forward Earl Clark poured in 32 markers and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Local players Xiao Hu finished the game with 12 points and Yuxing Yang had 11 markers and nine rebounds for the winners.

Henan out-rebounded the opposing team 55-38, and the team's starting lineup outscored the Lhasa.

According to NowGoal, the winning team dominated the first 24 minutes of the match and established a comfortable 22-point lead entering the second half of the game. With a big lead on hand, Henan managed to play at ease in the final quarter even s the opposing team staged a 25-17 run, which was not enough to steal the game.

Local player Jinlong Chen paced Lhasa with 32 points while Yunbin Li and Zhiming Dan contributed 18 points and 17 points respectively.

The loss was Lhasa's fifth-straight defeat this month. Lhasa currently sits at the thirteenth position on the 14-club league table, only one game ahead of the Nanjin Army (1-24), which is the NBL's worst performing team this season.
