China is investing a lot in robotics. Most tech shows and conferences held in the country recently have featured a robot booth. The growing interest in robots has also spawned a new trend among manufacturers, which is to organize mass robot performances.

During the Spring Festival Gala, a total of 540 bipedal robots performed a simultaneous break dance act. The gala is a popular event that is televised around China as part of the Chinese New Year festival.

The recent performance of 1,007 robots was organized as part of the Qingdao Beer Festival. Event organizers, Ever Win, used their QRC-2 model bipedal robots for the display. Each robot stands 43.8cm tall.

During the performance, a handful of robots toppled over or did not perform at all. However, the majority of those involved completed the one-minute routine to set the world record. The effort eventually secured Ever Win the Guinness World Record for "most robots dancing simultaneously."
