China Hit with H5N6 Avian Flu

The Ministry of Agriculture said Monday an outbreak of the H5N6 avian flu has appeared at Heilongjiang province in northeastern China. H5N6 strain is known to be a low-pathogenic bird flu virus and the risk of transmission from one human being to another is low. The infection can be fatal to humans.
