China Introduces New Tibet Border Regulations to Curb Separatism, Terrorism

China on Sunday introduced new regulations along its Tibet border, a move aimed at reducing any future terror risks and separatism. Under the new regulation, ports, scenic views, as well as trading zones, are to be affected. The move is believed to aim at making Tibet South Asia's trade hub.

China in its bid to advance trade links within its region has officially opened the Tibet and Nepal rail and road servicing link. The service, which kicked off on Friday, saw trucks carrying goods valued at over 2.8 million depart from the Tibetan border port of Gyirong going to Kathmandu.
