'Fake Sanitary Pads' Scam Sparks Outrage on Chinese Social Media

Nanchang Public Security Bureau said on Thursday that they have arrested two suspects for allegedly making millions of fake sanitary pads in dirty facilities. The arrest happened following a raid at a local factory.

A test commissioned by a state-owned magazine proved that China-made sanitary pads and tampons are safe, as many Chinese women believe that they may contain harmful fluorescent whitening chemicals, which can cause cancer.
