Images of the Sun taken by NASA on Saturday, Oct. 10 reveals that its top layer features a hole big enough to fit 50 Earths. The hole is currently unleashing solar winds at incredible speed towards the Earth.

As the sun continues throwing a fit, the coronal mass ejections have sent billions of tons of solar atmospheric materials spurting through the solar system toward the Earth. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC), the massive chunks are expected to reach the planet Saturday afternoon.
