Google is gearing up to release the latest version of its mobile operating system, Android 7.0 Nougat. Recently, HTC ROM developer LlabTooFer announced that the HTC Bolt, which is currently known only as Acadia, will be the company's first smartphone to run on the latest version of Android right out of the box.

Google's upcoming flagship smartphones, the Google Pixel and Pixel XL, are also manufactured by HTC. Since the Pixel devices are branded by Google, the HTC Bolt will claim the title of being the first HTC branded device to run on Android Nougat.

The HTC Bolt is expected to run on Android 7.0 Nougat with HTC's Sense 8 user interface.

According to Pocket-Lint, based on a handful of leaked renders, the HTC Bolt shares the same metal body build with the HTC 10. Both phones also have the same front-mounted fingerprint scanner and a rear-facing camera with dual LED-flash setup.

Not much is known about the hardware specs of the HTC Bolt. However, since the phone is being billed as HTC's next flagship device, it might sport premium hardware.

The HTC Bolt was initially expected to be released exclusively in the United States. However, there are speculations that the smartphone will also hit Asia, Africa, and the European market. Not much is known about its release date. The smartphone is expected to hit the US market first before becoming available in other regions.
