A mysterious phone recently surfaced on the AnTuTu benchmarking platform showing an impressive score of more than 200,000 points. If this is a legitimate phone, it can dethrone Apple's currently flagship iPhone and will be the first device to hit the 200k barrier on AnTuTu.

Every time Apple releases a new model of the iPhone it is expected that the new device will raise the bar in terms of hardware specs and efficiency. With the iPhone 7, Apple raised that bar by integrating it with a powerful A10 Fusion chip which eventually crushed all competitors in any benchmark.

According to BGR, AnTuTu recently released a list revealing the top 10 benchmark scores for the month of September. On top the top of the list, as expected, is the Apple iPhone 7 Plus garnering 172,644 points. Closely trailing is the iPhone 7 with 170,124 points.

However, a new leaked posted shared on Twitter by user @Ricciolo1 shows that a device that has broken that 200,000-mark in AnTuTu. The device scored an impressive 203,737 points - beating the high-end iPhone 7 Plus by more than 30,000 points. Based on the user's tweet, the device is expected to hit the market in the first quarter of 2017.

When the leaked benchmark result was eventually picked up by tech analysts, the initial speculation was that it belongs to the rumored Samsung Galaxy S8. There are rumors that South Korean tech giant Samsung is working on a new flagship device with a faster processor and a slew of interesting features which the company plans to release within the early months of 2017.
