The Civic Type-R will headline Honda's show dubbed appropriately as "Civicpalooza." During the same presentation, the audience is expected to be treated to nine more projects from Honda that highlight the company's performance and development team.

Based on a handful of renders shared by Honda, the new Civic Type-R will sport a highly reflective and finely-grained exterior. On the front panel, the car has a newly designed fascia with winged carbon fiber splitter and a sporty red accent line.

As with all previous Type R models, the 2016 Civic Type R will sport the iconic Honda logo along with the Type R branding, according to iTech Post. The car will also sport a new intake on the hood. Smoke lenses for the car's LED headlights and side indicators are among the newly designed features of the car.

There are reports that the new Honda Civic Type R will sport a VTEC 2.0-liter engine, a common feature in many recently released Honda cars. However, the Type R brand will offer a new kind of boost to the rather common engine. The Civic Type R is expected to reach 400NM worth of torque and 300 break horsepower. This massive output allows the car to accelerate from zero to 60mpg in around six seconds.
