There are rumors that the Toronto Raptors are planning to offer Terrence Ross to the Philadelphia 76ers for disgruntled center Nerlens Noel.

Noel, 22, has been in the rumor mill with teammate Jahlil Okafor since the beginning of summer after the Sixers announced that the 2014 third overall pick Joel Embiid will finally suit up for the team this season.

Noel was linked to several teams throughout the offseason, but no deals have been made as Sixers President Bryan Colangelo is adamant that they will not make a trade for the sake of making a trade.

Recently, Noel and the Sixers failed to agree on a contract extension. This has instigated speculations that a trade is imminent. What is sure, however, is that Noel will become a restricted free agent next summer because his contract was not renewed.

CSN Philly indicated that some teams will be interested in acquiring Noel by then even though he is currently sidelined by a knee injury and his timetable for a return is not yet certain.

Some NBA analysts are suggesting that the Sixers should trade Noel sooner rather than lose him for nothing in next year's free-agency period.

Sportsrageous suggested a trade with the Raptors for Ross and a future first-round draft pick. At 25 years old, Ross is a young veteran who already has four years of NBA experience.

Ross has been averaging 9.9 points and 2.5 rebounds in only 23.4 minutes per game mainly as a bench player for Toronto throughout his career and he has the chance of a breakthrough year in Philly as a starter.

The former Washington Huskies standout will give the Sixers the athletic wing that would complement their starting unit to finally get out of the league's cellar.

Noel has expressed frustration about his current situation in Philly, having to share minutes with Embiid and Okafor when he returns from injury. This has sparked rumors that he may request for a trade when that time comes, and the Raptors are one option for the Sixers.
