The gods of football are playing in the World Cup and who doesn't want to watch Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi and Neymar live on TV?

Manchester United might have a chance to bring back goal-scoring machine Cristiano Ronaldo after all.

According to Fox Sports, the growing tension between the Portuguese and the Real Madrid bosses could pave the way for him to make a return at Old Trafford possibly when the next transfer window opens.

Ronaldo, who has been the heart and soul of Los Blancos offense over the past five seasons, is apparently frustrated with the struggle Real Madrid is going through, and sources indicated he sees the move to tweak its UEFA Champions League roster as the culprit to its current situation.

Ronaldo is reportedly not happy to see midfielder Angel di Maria (Manchester United) and Xabi Alonso (Bayern Munich) being transferred to other teams before their La Liga season kicked off.

"He had a go at [Real president] Florentino Perez about two weeks ago for selling Angel Di Maria and Xabi Alonso just a week before the season started. A bizarre decision -- they're hot favorites to retain their title and the Champions League, the first team to do that in the new format. And now, two defeats in the league."

According to Antony Kastrinakis of the Sun's, Ronaldo has grown very frustrated with the team's losing trend that he already questioned Real Madrid's management over their move to let some of the key players walk away.

"Ronaldo said 'if I were president I wouldn't have done it' and then Perez was under massive pressure when he announced record income. He said 'there's no problem between me and Ronaldo," via Fox Sports.

Real Madrid unloaded Di Maria and Alonso after acquiring Toni Kross from Bayern Munich, James Rodriguez from Monaco and Javier Hernandez from Man United in another expensive offseason coup for the Spanish football powerhouse.

Apparently, Madrid isn't planning to unload Ronaldo until his sixth season at Santiago de Bernabeu when he turns 30-years old, believing it's the right time to get rid of a player in decline.

"Would it make sense for Ronaldo to leave Madrid? It would make more sense for Madrid to let go of Ronaldo because his best years have been spent at the Bernabeu," Kastrinakis stressed.

"He won't come as a spent force to Old Trafford, he would come as a player on the wane. He turns 30 next year."
