Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown has disclosed that he may consider starting Ersan Ilyasova at the team's power forward position.

The Sixers acquired Ilyasova on Nov. 1 in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder for small forward Jerami Grant. The team also received a conditional future first-round draft pick from Oklahoma that sweetened the deal.

However, Coach Brown seems to be focusing on the present as he told reporters that he could decide to make Ilyasova his starting power forward, a position currently occupied by rookie Dario Saric.

"What you're getting in Ersan is a veteran player with a very clear skill set that complements our two interior 5 men," said Brown, according to ESPN. "I think (starting) is all on the table. Dario has had open looks. He just hasn't made some shots."

Ilyasova, 29, is in his ninth season and fifth team in the NBA. He is a known floor-spacing number four throughout his career and has started for clubs such as the Milwaukee Bucks and Detroit Pistons before becoming a bench player with the Orlando Magic last season.

He joined the Thunder in June via the trade that sent Victor Oladipo to Oklahoma City and Serge Ibaka to Orlando. He played three games for Oklahoma City this season before Tuesday's trade, all coming off the bench, and averaged career-lows of 5.0 points and 5.3 rebounds in only 20.8 minutes per game.

Fansided reported that Ilyasova's arrival could "push" Saric back to Philly's bench, especially with the Croatian's current struggles with his field goal shooting.

Saric is shooting a low 37.5 percent from the field in four games so far this season, which seems to be unacceptable for Brown. He is averaging 11.3 points and 5.3 boards in 28.5 minutes a night.

Meanwhile, team president Bryan Colangelo is enthusiastic about Ilyasova's addition to the club.

"I think that this helps us both short term and long term," Colangelo said. "It gives us a chance to improve our roster balance a little bit. Floor spacing was important (and) perimeter shooting has been something that we wanted to improve. He has a lot of NBA experience at that power forward position."
