The Phoenix Suns are reportedly certain that they are going to trade Brandon Knight before this season's February trade deadline and Philadelphia 76ers center Nerlens Noel is said to be a potential target.

Knight, who will turn 25 on Friday, has been in the rumor mill since the beginning of summer when the Suns announced that they have decided to relegate him down to a bench role in favor of up-and-coming star Devin Booker.

Knight used to share starting backcourt duties with Eric Bledsoe when Jeff Hornacek was still the team's head coach. Right now, with Earl Watson at the helm, Knight was demoted to the backup guard spot as Phoenix is reportedly grooming Booker as the next face of the franchise.

There were rumors in the offseason that Knight will be traded for a young potential star big man to balance the team's roster, but no deals are yet to be made a month after the season-opener.

The Suns are struggling right now with a 5-12 record, second from the last place in the stacked Western Conference.

CBS Sports noted that because Knight is playing poorly in the ongoing season, Phoenix could "sell low on its dynamic combo guard."

Knight is coming off a breakthrough season after averaging a career-high 19.6 points in 36.0 minutes per game in 2015-2016. He also averaged 3.9 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.2 steals a night.

Those numbers went down as Knight was only able to produce 12.6 points, 2.7 boards, 3.1 assists, and 0.6 steals in 25.0 minutes per game after 17 games so far this season.

Inquisitr reported that Sixers young big man Nerlens Noel could be one of the primary targets of the Suns. Noel is also in a similar situation in Philly with the team having a surplus of young frontcourt talents together with Joel Embiid and Jahlil Okafor.

A trade between the Suns and Sixers would definitely balance each team's roster and would be an advantage for both sides in the long run. However, there are still no official reports that these two squads have started negotiating for the potential trade.
